In-office bleaching provides the quickest way to whiten teeth.
The whitening product is applied directly to the teeth, and then activated with a blue light for faster results. In only one, 50 minute treatment dramatic results can be seen, with up to 10 shades whiter in one session. The degree of whiteness will vary from individual to individual depending on the condition of the teeth and the level of staining.
How it works.
The Primary ingredient we use is hydrogen peroxide in a gel format which is then activated by the use of a blue LED lamp. At Lighten Up Laser Therapy and Colonics we us a 16% Peroxide gel (which is the strongest solution that can be used without a barrier for the gums). For each individual this speeds up the process and causes the hydrogen peroxide gel and oxygen to break into water molecules and free oxygen radicals. The free oxygen radicals combined with the hydrogen peroxide based molecules in the stained teeth proceed to make all stains clear. This process will penetrate the tooth enamel but will not damage it.
EXPECTATIONS
NO TOOTH SENSITIVITY
People with healthy teeth and gums but who have stains or a yellowish tint seem to get the best results. You will not experience any heat or discomfort. On some occasions, you may feel a little tingling or perhaps a slight sensitivity on teeth and or gums but this is normal and will disappear, usually in less than a day. Your teeth will never be whiter than your genetic traits. All teeth bleach differently. Possible white spots or de-mineralization may appear on patients who have had braces or who have porous enamel, but this will disappear in 24 hours. The Teeth Whitening procedure will not whiten or damage veneers, crowns, or false teeth.
After Care and Follow Up
For minimum of 24 hours after the process, please avoid consuming coffee, tea, dark coloured soda, red wine, curry, beetroot and any other food or drink that would stain the teeth. A good rule of thumb is that if it would stain a white shirt it would stain your teeth. If your teeth are sensitive you can use Sensodyne Toothpaste for immediate relief. Of course, we suggest that you brush and floss as directed by your dentist.

Is It Safe?
Yes, the Beaming White Dental System is very safe. Pregnant or lactating women or children under 16 should not use the Beaming White Dental System.
HOW DO TOOTH WHITENERS WORK?
Tooth whitening systems use peroxide-generating compounds as the whitening ingredient. Most are formulated with hydrogen peroxide, carbamide peroxide or urea peroxide. The latter two are most common, and are about three times less potent than hydrogen peroxide itself. In general, the more peroxide, the greater the whitener power. Formulations differ depending on the way the product is applied either painted on, or in a tray. Depending on the strength of the whitener, the peroxide acts on the surface of the tooth, as well as the next layer below the dentin. It does not go far enough to reach the pulp (the innermost part of the tooth.) Tooth Whiteners will whiten only natural teeth, not caps, crowns, veneers, fillings or dentures. The results are not permanent, but will last for about six months.
What Causes Teeth to Darken?
Many things can darken teeth; aging, coffee, tea, cola, tobacco, spices, nerve damage, old fillings and trauma are most of the common causes. Antibiotics like tetracycline and minocycline also cause teeth to discolour. WE TAKE CARE OF THIS PART.
